The boy in the bubble. It’s bath time for Frankie Stein but ‘dad’ Professor Cube’s about to play dirty. Fantastic Robert Nixon art.

Created by Ken Reid for Wham! comic in the 1960s, the innocent Frankie and his filicidal father (dark as hell concept when you think about it) were reintroduced to young British readers in Shiver and Shake in 1973 and transferred to Whoopee! when the comics merged later in ‘74.

Also appearing in this week’s issue were Shake (artist Mike Lacey), Tough Nutt and Softy Centre (Norman Mansbridge), a Ken Reid Creepy Creation. The advert for sibling comics in IPC’s humour range is fun to see too.
