Cheeky went into a Friscodisco spin, merged into the longer-playing Whoopee! after just two and a half years as a single title.

For a couple of weeks the comic was titled Whoopee! and Cheeky, and operated as a two-comics-in-one arrangement with Cheeky occupying the middle 16 pages. But the comic’s title quickly reverted to just Whoopee!, and the Cheeky pull-out mini-comic format was dropped in the summer.

The combined line-up of strips was a strong one though. The Whoopee! contingent included Sweeny Toddler, Bumpkin Billionaires, Frankie Stein and Lolly Pop.

The Cheeky section had a four-page It’s Cheeky strip, and brought with him pals such as $6,000,000 Gran, Mustapha Million and Calculator Kid.
