On this day, 2 July 1977 … No ‘nanas in the cupboard sent Kid Kong out on the streets to sing for his supper on this lovely cover of Buster and Monster Fun. There’s plenty of fun and action inside too, as Gums’ nose is put out of joint by Spike the Swordfish, The Spritely Lads (an Asian lad and a white lad named Kurry and Chips, would you believe?) try their hand at shop-floor salesmanship, Ivor Lott and Tony Broke play occupy the cricket pitch, Clever Dick gets arsey with his cousin Herbert, The Leopard from Lime Street is on the run from his Uncle Charlie and the entire Rent-a-Ghost team is called out to frighten off an unwelcome house guest.
