England to the rescue!

Our proud boys in the air bring aid to the simple folk of the mid-Atlantic isle of New Anglia, as thanks for the backward islanders’ footballers representing England at the World Cup! This bonkers story was fairly typical of Jet.

Much of Jet mocked other nationalities while misty-eyed tub-thumping for mythical days of English Empire and benevolent Commonwealth. In Adare’s Anglians, the Amish-style islanders are co-opted to make up for England’s sporting failure in return for disaster relief.
