Superannuated Night Fever! 6 Million Dollar Gran takes her geriatric gyrations to the dancefloor. Ian Knox was the artist.

Gran was a wild, brilliant comic strip, presented as appointment TV viewing for Cheeky each week. Knox - now a renowned political cartoonist - draws scenes crackling with violence, madness and high energy. A similar vibe to The Goodies or Tiswas. Classic 70s kids’ stuff.

Frank McDiarmid drew Bump-bump Bernie on this week’s back page. It was one of a great series of ‘Pin-up Pals’ featuring the extensive cast of the Cheekiverse. I posted a gallery of them here: http://www.greatnewsforallreaders.com/blog/2016/10/22/cheeky-and-his-pin-up-pals-a-gallery
