On this day, 29 April 1972 ... Here is the 100th issue of Cor!! The anniversary is announced on the front cover but otherwise little celebrated, other than a flashback reproduction of the cover of issue one on the letters page (25p for every letter published, pals!). Although I guess this may actually have been quite an item of interest for readers in 1972, when nostalgia wasn't such an accessible commodity.

Some really great characters and ideas in here. Look out below for Whacky (the spanky comic), The Gasworks Gang (heaven for Frank McDiarmid fans), Hire a Horror (an earlier, and darker, Rentaghost), Ivor Lott and Tony Broke (modern Britain in a nutshell) and Jasper the Grasper (Scrooge on acid).
